PK Summer Safety Spectacular a Success

Local hospital, Palo Pinto General hosted a summer safety festival at the new Land – Patterson Family Health Clinic and Emergency Services District # 1 facility located on FM RD 2353 on the east side of Possum Kingdom Lake. Food trucks, giveaways, games, face paintings, free personal flotation devices, and exhibits from local health and safety organizations focusing on having safe outdoor activities. Representatives from the hospital and clinic had various booths to share health information including skincare, hydration, blood pressure checks, blood sugar, and weight management, and snake bite. Staff from Possum Kingdom State Park and the fish hatchery had displays and information to hand out to visitors. Brazos River Authority Lake Rangers were on hand displaying their patrol vehicles and air boat. The PK Volunteer Fire Department and Sacred Cross Emergency Services personnel displayed fire trucks and ambulances and answered questions about their equipment. Safety tips on swimming, boating, and water sports were also highlighted.

The purpose of the event was to encourage families to be aware of preventative measures to prevent drownings, boating accidents, and outdoor hazards. Organizations participating in the event were PPGH, PK Family Health, Palo Pinto Emergency Services District #1, PK East Volunteer Fire Department, PK State Park, PK Fish Hatchery, Brazos River Authority, Care Flite Lifeteam, Remembering Wyatt Dale Water Safety Awareness, Overstuffed Burger, Filipino Food Truck, Toy Shop, and Graham Savings & Loan.
